The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that Iran has launched a barrage of drones towards Israel on Saturday, setting up for a direct military conflict between the two nations.
Reports first came from Iranian television but the IDF soon confirmed the launch, and the United States as well a short time later.
“A short while ago, Iran launched UAVs from within its territory toward Israel,” said an IDF statement released on X, Telegram, and other social media channels. “The IDF is on high alert and is constantly monitoring the operational situation.”
