WA Governor Chris Dawson has an audience with King Charles at Buckingham Palace [Video]

Governor Chris Dawson and his wife Darrilyn have had an audience with King Charles in London.

The event took place at Buckingham Palace overnight, with Mr and Mrs Dawson being presented to King Charles ahead of an Audience with His Majesty.

It is customary that State governors meet with the monarch during their term. An audience is granted at the discretion and invitation of the King.

The Governor’s official visit includes a series of engagements with government and business leaders throughout the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland to promote the interests of WA.

As well as the official adience, the visit aims to strengthen diplomatic relationships, advocate for trade and investment and attract skilled workers to Western Australia.

The Honourable Justice Kenneth Martin will fulfil constitutional requirements and administer the State in Mr Dawson’s absence.
