REPORTER. TODAY ITS FOUNDERS DAY AT REGIS COLLEGE IN WESTON. TODAY IS NOT ABOUT ACADEMICS OR ATHLETICS. ITS ABOUT SERVING THE COMMUNITY AS THE COLLEGES FOUNDERS. DID THEY HAVE A DAY OFF AND THEY CHOOSE TO DO THIS. THEY LOVE IT. I SEE IT YEAR AFTER YEAR. NO CLASS. BUT WERE OUT HERE. WERE SERVING THE COMMUNITY. I THINK ITS EVEN BETTER. STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF PITCH IN AS THEY DO EVERY YEAR, DONATING THEIR TIME AND TALENTS. WERE MAKING BLANKETS TO DONATE TO LOCAL HOMELESS SHELTERS AND FOR CHILDREN, WERE JUST DECORATING BAGS, PUTTING FOOD IN IT, AND THEN WERE GOING TO GIVE IT OUT TO PEOPLE IN NEED. THIS IS THE RESULT OF THE VOLUNTEERS HARD WORK. A BRAND NEW TRAIL IN THE HIGHLAND STREET FOREST IN WESTON. THE CONSERVATIONISTS SAY THEYVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS PROJECT DONE FOR YEARS, AND NOW, THANKS TO THE WORK OF THE STUDENT VOLUNTEERS, ITS DONE. SOPHOMORE JULIA DENNIS IS PART OF A PROJECT THAT IS MAKING BANANA BREAD TO GIVE TO FIRST RESPONDERS AND ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME SHES GIVEN BACK, NOR WILL IT BE HER LAST. I DID A SERVICE TRIP WITH REGIS COLLEGE TO JAMAICA LAST SPRING, AND I REALLY WANT TO TAKE THAT INTO MY CAREER AND GO TO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES ABROAD TO HELP SERVE THOSE FOR DENTAL HYGIENE PURPOSES. IN TOTAL, THE COLLEGE SAYS MORE THAN 800 STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF ARE VOLUNTEERING AT 30 SITES ON AND OFF CAMPUS AS PART OF THIS DAY OF SERVICE. REPORTING IN WESTON TOD
