New Orleans, La. (WWL/WGR 550) – The New Orleans Saints sounded just as excited as many of their fans Monday afternoon, as the persistent quarterback question was put to bed.
“Got our guy,” read the social media post, officially announcing the team had come to terms with former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. This comes after a fairly long courting process that also included the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets.
It was also a fair distillation of the process in general, in which the Saints appeared focused on Carr throughout, and ultimately inked him to a four-year deal that is reported to be worth $150 million.
“We are excited to welcome Derek Carr to the New Orleans Saints,” said Saints general manager Mickey Loomis in a news release. “Derek’s experience, leadership and skillset will be an asset to our offense.”
