Swedish electric performance marque Polestar will launch a direct replacement for its top-selling Polestar 2 when the time comes, new CEO Michael Lohscheller has revealed.
Lohscheller’s predecessor, Thomas Ingenlath, who led Polestar since its inception and was responsible for the design of the 2, said last April that the 2 would be replaced by a new Polestar 7 as the brand’s entry-level model, and that this model would occupy a different segment from the 2.
Polestar announced earlier in January that the 7 will be a small SUV to be built in Europe, suggesting it may be related to the Volvo EX30 or a future Volvo EX40 and be built at a Volvo plant. However, Polestar and Volvo’s parent company, Geely, are also …
