EUGENE & SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — As the extreme heat continues on, people are seeking relief in rivers and streams.

A nice day on the water, however, can turn dangerous without proper precautions. One Eugene business is doing its part in helping people enjoy the water responsibly.

Oregon Paddle Sports says business has been going really well since the summer kicked off. As more people hit local rivers, the General Manager, Chance Ray, said it has been critical to strike a balance between having fun and being safe.

“We’ve been getting tons of people out on the water, and I would say our rivers are probably the most popular waterway that we are selling people our equipment for now,” he said.
