ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Gwinnett County’s district attorney said she’s taking action after the accused killer of a pregnant teen was granted bond.
Jesus Monroy, 20, was released from jail early Thursday morning on a $56,000 bond. A judge lowered Monroy’s bail from what his attorney originally requested.
He was arrested and charged at the end of July for the murder of 16-year-old Mia Campos, who was 7-months pregnant with his child.
The victim’s father, Edward Campos, said it’s a failure of the justice system.
“We were really disappointed with the court’s decision yesterday and I couldn’t believe they made that kind of decision,” he said.

Campos said his family is outraged.
He said Monroy came up with the 10% needed to bond out within hours.
